We’ve completed our study together of Ephesians 6. Our next online study will take place in November! In the meantime, if you would like to continue your study of Ephesians 6 and its themes on your own, here are some ideas:

  • Study in more detail Jesus’ temptation as recorded in Matthew 4:1-11 and Luke 4:1-13. How did He use the armor of God to do combat with Satan?
  • Study the subject of prayer in the book of Ephesians.
  • Identify specific areas in which you are especially tempted. Find, list, study, and memorize verses to use as your sword in doing battle against these sins.
  • Study the topic of temptation in the Bible. Start by searching on the word tempted on Blue Letter Bible, and then use cross-references, interlinear, and dictionaries/topical Bibles to further your study from there.
  • Study what the Bible says about Satan, the devil, and Lucifer. What is his origin? What is his ultimate end? How does he operate? How do we resist him?
  • Study in more detail the last verses of Ephesians 6.
  • Choose one commentary and read all of its comments on Ephesians 6.
  • Choose another commentary on Ephesians 6, read it, and compare it with the previous one you read. Do you see any differences in interpretation?
  • Read and take notes on the cross-references for each verse of Ephesians 6. What new insights do you gain?
  • Study the topic of obedience in the Bible. (Use the “Dictionaries/Encyclopedias” link under “Study” in Blue Letter Bible’s upper menu bar.)
  • Study the topic of parenting in the Bible. Search on the words fathersmothers, and son to get you started, or click on “Dictionaries/Encyclopedias” under “Study” in the upper menu bar of Blue Letter Bible, and then search on Parents.
  • Read John Bunyan’s Pilgrim’s Progress, thinking about the armor of God as you read.

If you would like to continue using the study methods we have used in our study of Ephesians 6:

  • Choose a chapter of the Bible. Look for repeated words and mark them. Mark common words like thereforefor and because, and look for the reasons that those words introduce. Use the interlinear to study original words and their meanings. Read other verses that use the same words. Look for lists in the passage. Make charts to organize your findings. Read commentaries and cross-references.
  • Study another one of the Busy Mamas Bible Studies, available free in the blog archives (look in the right-hand side bar) or in digital or printed format from Doorposts. Choose from Psalms 22, 37, and 103, Isaiah 53, Philippians 2, 1 John 3, Proverbs 31, 1 Corinthians 13, and more. Ask a group of ladies to study along with you and learn even more!
  • Study what the Bible says about parenting by completing the Child-Training Boot Camp study which is available free as listed above or for purchase in digital and print formats from Doorposts.
  • Work your way through Beauty in the Heart from Doorposts, learning Bible study methods while studying God’s definition of true beauty. This would be a great study to do along with your pre-teen and teenage daughters.
  • Study Because You Are Strong from Doorposts, and use new BIble study skills while studying godly strength. This is a great study for young men to do with their dads.
  • In October, study along with others when we rerun one of our previous Busy Mamas studies30 Days in Psalm 37 — a good psalm to meditate on as those of us in the United States anticipate the election of a new president. Links for the lessons to this study will only be posted in the Facebook group. They will not be delivered via email, since it is a rerun of a study we did together back in November 2014.

Be sure to enter our giveaway tomorrow! Even if you know that you won’t win the giveaway (I never win anything), we would really appreciate you taking the time to take our short survey. It will help us serve you better in the future!
